How to disable double-click on cell border in Excel?

Normally, we double click on a cell to edit the cell content, however, the cursor jumps to bottom of the worksheet data as you may click on the cell border accidentally as following screenshot shown. Disable double-click on cell border to jump to bottom

To disable double-click on cell border feature, you can go to the Excel Options to configure an option, please do as this:

1. Click File > Options to go to the Excel Options dialog box.

  WOW so if you disable this as instructed above (to avoid the cursor jumping ALL THE WAY up or ALL THE WAY down every single time you double click something slightly off center) then you also can't drag and drop data into adjoining cells? Why did you have to monopolize computer programs just to turn them into a stinking pile of whale dung Microsoft? I'm livid right now. And we have to pay for this garbage?

  What demented fart monkey thought this would be a helpful feature to ANYONE? This weird jumping to the bottom of the spreadsheet thing has been the bane of my existence at my job. Does anyone remember when Microsoft was GOOD and also FREE? Now you have to pay for it to constantly annoy you.

  Sorry but this is absolute crap advice. Sure, it disables the single most annoying thing that Excel does but at the same time it also disables one of the handiest and most important features of Excel, the ability to fill a column with repeated data or formulas which is something I use ALL THE TIME. This isn't your fault, this is all on Microsoft. How stupid are the Excel dev team? Honestly!

  Just switch workbook view to 'Page Break Preview' from the 'View' tab. There will be no jumping around.

    I tried this and it makes no difference. I'm on Excel 2016 and the different views have no effect on that particular feature.

  i know this is over a year old BUT..it is still a problem. I use fill handle quite often particularly for sorting data but the double click sending me over 1000 cells away is more than an inconvenience!

  Since 'fill handle and cell drag-and-drop' is surely needed by most users, it's no solution to turn this off. It's a very bad idea form MS guys to combine the option for a relatively useless but bugging feature with important features :-[.
