Remotely control the most important settings of your Onkyo or Integra receiver from your Mac. OnkyMote is compatible with all Onkyo and Integra network-enabled receivers released during or after 2010.

It Works! - I have a TX-NR636 and the app immediately detected and allowed me to control my receiver within seconds of launching. Everything works and works well, no issues so far!

Doesn’t do zones - I need it to do zones. The whole point is not to have to walk back to the receiver when I am in a place. Many of those places are far away from the receiver. How can I hope to listen to music in those places? Well, they are defined as zones and there are speakers there. That is the main use of a remote control - to access something remotely - and this app doesn’t do it. In fact, it has a built in link to a FAQ where it tells you that if you want to switch zones, get an iPhone and then get an iOS app that does that.

Simple controls in your Menu Bar - Opening OnkyMote actually enables a Menu Bar item; no icon appears in the Dock nor do windows open like full-blown “apps.” Perhaps some users became distressed when nothing seemed to happen upon launching it. OnkyMote does what it claims, offering simple input selection and volume control. Power on/off sometimes goes stupid and you may on occasion need to quit/reopen to reestablish communication with your receiver. While I would welcome added functions in light of the price tag, this is nonetheless a handy item to have with your integrated living room or whatever configuration brought you here.

Does what it advertises but.. - The app does what it advertises, but it would benefit from a few more features.Here is what it does not do:- Does not allow tuning of radio- No zone control

Does not work with TX-NR777 on a mac - automatic search does not find the TX-NR777 and manuel configuration don’t list the 777. it did work ok with my older onkyo 626 tho.
